UNESCO Week for Peace and Sustainable Development:

The Role of Education

UNESCO Week was held in CANADA, at Show Centre in Ottawa, on March 6th-10th. The 5-day event is gathering more than 400 experts, practitioners and policymakers from across the world to examine pedagogical approaches and teaching practices to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Global Citizenship Education (GCED).

It was honor that I could meet Ms. Irina Bokova Director-General of UNESCO again. I told my gratitude of the last December Artmile Exhibition at UNESCO HQ in Paris. At that time she said that Artmile project is effective not only for ESD but for GCED.

Artmile Mural Exhibition

JAM exhibited 3 murals of elementary schools, secondary schools and high schools. Each mural has each story to tell a lot to people. They are evident that the interactive and collaborative learning over borders in JAM's IIME project is effective for ESD and GCED on the SDGs.

Lots of teachers and educators from all over the world visited the JAM's booth and payed big interest in the interactive learning beyond borders and listened to the children's voice from the murals.
